Michigan State, Pitt get TV spot

Pitt's Sept. 15 game against Michigan State, the Panthers' first in East Lansing since 1958, will start at noon and televised by ESPN.

The Panthers' games Oct. 10 against Navy at home (ESPN, 8 p.m.) and Dec. 1 at West Virginia (ESPN or ESPN2, time to be determined) also will be nationally televised.

The Panthers also announced kickoff times for their first two games, both at Heinz Field. The Eastern Michigan game Sept. 1 will start at 6 p.m. The Sept. 8 game against Grambling will start at noon.

NOTE -- Pitt senior defensive end Joe Clermond was named to the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which goes to the top defensive college player. Clermond led the team with 5.5 sacks and his average of 1.38 tackles for loss per game led the Big East and ranked 15th nationally.
