The Post-Gazette reviews movies from a family perspective:
'Ocean's Thirteen'
Rated: PG-13.
Suitable for: Tweens and older.
What you should know: This is the second sequel to "Ocean's Eleven," itself a remake of the 1960 Rat Pack heist film. The gang's all back (except for the women), and Al Pacino joins the cast as a ruthless casino owner who double-crosses Vegas old-timer Elliott Gould, setting plans for payback into action.
Language: About a dozen mild four-letter vulgarities.
Sexual situations and nudity: A woman develops an instant attraction to a man and they canoodle but nothing more.
Violence/scary situations: A man collapses with a heart attack, factory workers revolt, and some mildly scary stunts are pulled off.
Drug or alcohol use: Adults drink beer and champagne.
'Surf's Up'
Rated: PG.
Suitable for: School-age children and up. Preschoolers at an afternoon preview fussed throughout, but maybe it was nap or lunchtime.
What you should know: This is an animated movie about surfing penguins. The rating is for mild language and some rude humor involving flatulence, burping and urination.
Language: Nothing notable.
Sexual situations and nudity: None.
Violence/scary situations: A flashback shows a penguin about to be eaten by a shark, a bad surfing accident is mentioned, and the lead character, voiced by Shia LaBeouf, wipes out but isn't seriously hurt.
Drug or alcohol use: None.
