Football: PSU adds Virginia to future schedule
Wednesday, June 06, 2007
Penn State and Virginia will renew their football series with games in 2012 and 2013. The Nittany Lions and Cavaliers will play Sept. 8, 2012 in Charlottesville, Va., followed by a Sept. 14 game the following year in University Park.

Penn State and Virginia last met in 2002, a 35-14 Penn State victory at Beaver Stadium. This will be the third two-game series for the two schools in the recent past. The Lions and Cavaliers also played in 1988 and 1989. Penn State leads the series, 5-2.

The Nittany Lions are scheduled to play one marquee non-conference game with another major Division I program each season for the next decade. The Lions will finish a two-game series with Notre Dame this year. They play Syracuse in 2008 and 2009 and Alabama in 2010 and 2011.
