The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful
Locke has an album, Daddy Lohan has religion and Ray J. has a rep

The GBB recently caught up with former American Idol finalist Kimberley Locke, whose album "Based On A True Story" is out now.

So we're gonna let you know what she's been up to before we get to the drunken starlets.

Unlike a certain soon-to-be-incarcerated hotel heiress, Kim is a woman of many talents.

The 29-year-old singer, who's had four previous chart topping singles, co-wrote eight of the 12 songs on her sophomore album including the single, "Change."

"Even when change was in its rawest form, we knew there was something special about that song, and it had single potential," Kim said.

That song is based on the painful experience of breaking up with her fiancee.

Asked whether it's easier to write during despair than times of joy, she said, "I think that when we feel pain, we feel it so deep sometime that the moments of happiness I've felt that deep are so rare. I think it's easier to write about the sad things. I don't know why it is that way, it just is."

Although you don't see her in commercials, Kim said she is doing the Jenny Craig thing and has lost 30 pounds.

But folks have also been peeping her slim-down efforts on Vh1's "Celebrity Fit Club 3."

The episodes are airing now, but she filmed the show between last Thanksgiving and March after her album was completed. "I was very comfortable the way I was and loved myself the way I was," she said.

But she did the show "because I was ready to take on the challenge."

She's also ready to take on the challenge of acting when the right role comes along. (She auditioned for the Effie role in "Dreamgirls").

Folks may be surprised to know that Kim owns a restaurant called Croton Creek Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Croton Falls, NY, which she opened on Jan. 4, the day after her birthday.

"It's always exciting for me to get into a different aspect of business," she said. "I always wanted to own a restaurant, and I have one now.

"I like the environment. I like hosting people. I like to feel like I'm special, and that's how I try to treat my customers when I'm there, because they are special," Kim said.

In terms of her music, she doesn't want to be categorized.

"Sometimes it's very frustrating as a singer that people want to put me in that box, and I don't want to be in that box," Kim said. "And I'm not going to be in that box."

Now on to other GBB news:

Our favorite underage rehabber hasn't been in there a week and her daddy is spilling the beans on her substances of choice.

Michael Lohan, who's found God after serving a jail sentence on DUI charges, said daughter Lindsay is being treated for multiple addictions, including alcohol and the pain killer OxyContin, according to Eonline's Tina Dirmann.

MiLo, who is studying to be a drug rehab counselor, said he's satisfied with what's being done for his daughter at Promises.

"First, she needs to get clean, then she needs to let God in her life," Michael said.

Amen!

Now, let's look at somebody else who appears to need saving -- Ray J.

Seems Brandy's younger brother just lost a part in a movie co-starring gospel super star Yolanda Adams because of his sex tape.

He made the now-infamous tape with then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian, who's apparently moved on to N.O. Saints running back Reggie Bush.

Guess the tape hasn't slowed Kim's roll, but it cost Mr. Norwood one -- role that is.

Having Eddie Murphy as her possible baby's daddy has put former Spice Girl Melanie Brown back on the celebrity radar screen.

Word is Mel B. is set to participate in the next season of "Dancing With the Stars."

Speaking of that show, DWTS star Maxim Chmerkovskiy said it was quite tense behind the scenes of "The View" during last week's Rosie/Elisabeth battle royal.

He said producers were running around with their nerves all worked up looking grim, and actress Alicia Silverstone, who was scheduled as a guest, was hyperventilating.

Alicia should have just had a granola bar and chilled. It was not all THAT serious.
