Peter Diana, Post-Gazette Jerome Bettis goes from football to food.

Jerome Bettis Grille 36 opens Tuesday in the DelMonte Building on the North Side, just across from Heinz Field, where the retired and beloved running back played.

He worked with Ft. Lauderdale-based Celebrity Ventures Inc. to develop the eatery and nightspot, which will feature a signature "Jerome 36-ounce Steak" as well as, in the bar, 36 different martinis, 36 different beers and 36 different vodkas, in honor of the number he wore on his Steelers jersey.

Celebrity Ventures' other properties include one in Columbus with Eddie George, former running back at Ohio State and with the Tennessee Titans, and one in Florida associated with former Marlins baseball player Jeff Conine.
