THE SKINNY: Carrick defeated Brashear twice this season by scores of 5-4 and 5-2. Both times, Brashear pitched Tardio. "He's a left-hander and I'm a left-hander, so I've been a little overworked the past few days throwing batting practice," said Aromatorio. ... Thurner, Bon and Cashman are all batting above .500. Thurner also has four home runs and 24 RBIs. ... Fricke hit .460 during the regular season for Carrick. ... Brashear's previous championship came in 2004 while Carrick won three in a row from 2002-04. |
