Chatham University is skipping the beer and bratwurst and going straight to high culture in anticipation of its upcoming Global Focus Year of Germany. The school is presenting two concerts next weekend at Laughlin Music Hall in Shadyside.
The first features German pianist Felix Michael Deichmann, who will perform music by Mozart, Beethoven and Ravel (don't tell anyone, but he was French) at 4 p.m. Friday. The second concert features pianist Jerry Lee and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra violinist Jeremy Black performing music by Beethoven, Debussy and Franck, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. They are free.
