A Highland Park graffiti artist charged with defacing more than 80 sites in Lawrenceville, Schenley Farms, East Liberty, Bloomfield and Shadyside was arrested yesterday and charged in several more incidents.
Daniel Montano, 21, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. after police executed a search warrant on his home.
Police have charged Mr. Montano with scrawling his monikers "MFONE" and "Brown Eyes" on business facades, trash bins and even chain link fences.
So far, police have been able to document 91 locations within the city, said Graffiti Task Force Detective Daniel Sullivan. He was originally charged with 87 back in March.
Police said that with new evidence taken from his home yesterday, Mr. Montano may be charged with defacing more than 100 locations.
Mr. Montano spends his time between Pittsburgh and San Francisco, where he goes to art school. He arrived in Pittsburgh Sunday.
Mr. Montano was in the Allegheny County Jail last night, awaiting arraignment.
