Dividends

Iron and Glass Bancorp declared a quarterly dividend of 30 cents a share, payable June 8 to shareholders of record June 1.

Contracts

The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 has recently retained the strategic marketing services of Vision Marketing Group. The Operating Engineers Local 66 is represented by more than 7,000 members in 36 counties in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Burns & Scalo Roofing says the roofing and sheet metal contract award for the Business Records Management building, Erie.

MAX Environmental Technologies Inc. secured $4.5 million in financing from a private equity source and PNC Bank for the construction of a Containment and Processing complex at MAX's Yukon facility in Yukon. The expansion, slated for completion in Fall 2007, will increase MAX's capacity to treat, manage and process hazardous wastes, including Electric Arc Furnace Dust generated by the steel industry. General Industries will be the project's general contractor.

New Business/New Offices

Four partners opened the Pennsylvania Beauty Academy, 415 Smithfield St., which was known as the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy, before closing in 2003. They are Deborah Dunn, Betty Best, James Best and Gerard Geist. Ms. Dunn and Mr. Geist own a cosmetology school in Lancaster known as Lancaster School of Cosmetology. The first class is scheduled for July 17. The academy will offer programs, both day and evening, in cosmetology at 1,250 hours and a specialized esthetics program at 300 hours. Awards/Honors

Pittsburgh Parent and Around & About, produced by Honey Hill Publishing Inc., received national recognition in the Parenting Publications of America Editorial and Design Competition. Publisher Marilyn Honeywill collected two of the 370 awards presented to 80 parenting newspapers and magazines. A Gold Award was presented to Pittsburgh Parent magazine for the June 2006 cover story "The Death of a Child," Pat Poshard, editor, Kathryn Gibson, writer. Honey Hill Publishing received a Silver Award for Around & About Pittsburgh.

The Cure Alzheimer's Fund, co-founded by Pittsburgh residents Jeffrey and Jacqueline Morby, received Massachusetts General Hospital's first annual award for Philanthropic Innovation and Investment.

Baker Energy, a unit of Michael Baker Corp., said Tad LeBlanc, vice president, health safety environmental & compliance, is one of just 22 in the energy industry to receive a 2006 Corporate Leadership Award from the U.S. Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Services. This award is presented annually to individuals who perform an act or service that enhances MMS' mission objectives. Mr. LeBlanc was chosen for his proactive leadership in maintaining personnel safety and promoting regulatory compliance on production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.

Ronald S. Gellert of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott was recognized as a leader in bankruptcy law by being selected as an author in "The Roles and Motivations of Key Players in Bankruptcy Cases: Leading Lawyers on Overseeing Bankruptcy, Financial Restructuring, and Reorganization Proceedings," published by Aspatore Books. Mr. Gellert practices in the Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Department.

Bruce Antkowiak, assistant professor of law at Duquesne University, was published by The Pennsylvania Bar Institute as principal author and editor of "Pennsylvania Criminal Procedure: Elements, Analysis, Application." A foreword by Justice Cynthia Baldwin of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court appears, praising the practical scholarship of the discourse.

Jared Sadowski, manager, commercial line service department and consultative services coordinator, Henderson Brothers, was recognized by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Young Real Estate Professionals. He was honored with the annual YREP Pittsburgh Leadership Award for his efforts in organizing, managing and promoting the majority of the organization's events during the past year and for his dedication as an ambassador for the organization since its inception in January 2005 at Henderson Brothers.
