"Everyone is happy tonight
And I know there'll be no fight
This is a conscious party."
Yes, I think we should follow Ziggy Marley's advice and have a "Conscious Party."
That means looking at the world around you and realizing that you have a place in the grand scheme of things.
But it's not just about you. There are other people, too. We all have a right to exist here and you shouldn't take what you can't give back.
Leave your guns, bring your consciousness.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Gala in NYC is only THE party of the year and as such brought out the who's who of fashion, society and entertainment Monday night.
An always-breathtaking Iman in a white suit was there with hubby David Bowie. Renee Zellweger struck a pose in a gorgeous blue-patterned fishtail gown; Cameron Diaz attended, as did Naomi Watts, Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Hudson, who wore a gown by Michael Kors, who was also there, along with Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Lopez, America Ferrara ... and the list goes on and on.
We were not there because our invitation probably got lost among the many, many invites we receive. Yeah, that's it!

While we're on the subject of the gala, actor Nick Cannon was there, too, with his girlfriend of three months, Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks.
But afterward, he had his limo swing through Times Square, where he proposed with a 12-carat ring and the requisite question on a JumboTron.
She said yes.

Surprise, surprise!
Our favorite law-flouting celebutante is appealing her 45-day jail stint.
In the meantime, Paris Hilton has rehired her spokesman Eliot Mintz, whom she fired last weekend after a judge gave her jail time for violating probation in an earlier DUI case.
"The Simple Life" or, as we like to say, just plain simple star is also encouraging her minions to write to Calif. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger asking that she be pardoned.

Usher has not only kicked his momager to the curb, he booted his publicist right along with her.
The rumors have been going on for weeks that he would hand his manager/mom Jonetta Patton a pink slip. She's only been with him since day one, career-wise and life-wise.
NY Daily News reports that he has also gotten rid of longtime publicist Simone Smalls.
"It means I now get to have my mother strictly as my mother with no added pressure," he told the Associated Press. "At this time in my life, I am simply more interested in building the strength of my family. And in order to do that, I feel it's best to separate my business life from my personal life."
OK!

Just in case you haven't heard, David Hasselhoff has been barred temporarily from seeing his two teenage daughters after the release of a videotape showing him drunk.
David's ex-wife Pamela Bach asked that a judge suspend the actor's visitation and custody and order him into rehab before he can see their daughters, 14 and 16. The judge suspended the Hoff's visitation and custody until May 21, Ms. Bach's lawyer, Debra Opri, told People.
According to reports it was the eldest daughter who videotaped her dad making a mess with a hamburger as he sat on the floor shirtless and inebriated.
We're just really glad he wasn't driving.

While we're on the subject of excess alcohol consumption, Ty Pennington, host of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" admits that driving while under the influence was a very bad move.
In a statement issued in response to his DUI arrest, he said, "I made an error in judgment. We all make mistakes; however this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving, I could have jeopardized the lives of others, and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone. This was my wake-up call."
Let's hope so.
