NASCAR

Event: Crown Royal 400.

Where: Richmond International Raceway, Richmond, Va.

When: 7 p.m. tomorrow.

TV: WPGH.

Pit notes: Qualifying is 6 p.m. today (Speed Channel). ... Jeff Gordon has won consecutive races and been the target of beer cans and angry Dale Earnhardt fans both times. ... Hendrick Motorsports drivers have won six of the first nine races, including the past two by Gordon. ... Gordon struggled at Richmond last year, finishing 40th and 31st ... The Busch series races at Richmond tonight (7:30, ESPN2).


NHRA

Event: O'Reilly Midwest Nationals.

Where: Gateway International Raceway, Madison, Ill.

When: Qualifying begins at 5 p.m. today and continues at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow; eliminations begin at noon Sunday.

TV: Qualifying will be shown on tape delay at 5 p.m. tomorrow on ESPN2 and eliminations at 7 p.m. Sunday on ESPN2.

Pit notes: In the circuit's most recent event, Ashley Force won the first father-daughter race in NHRA history, edging 14-time series champion John Force in the first round of Funny Car eliminations in the Southern Nationals.


IRL

Event: None scheduled.

Pit notes: The series will be off for the month of May in preparation for the Indianapolis 500 May 27. ... Practice at Indy opens next week, with pole qualifying scheduled for May 12.


Champ Car

Pit notes: The circuit last raced April 22 in Houston, with Sebastien Bourdais earning his 25th career win. ... The series is off until June 10 for the G.I. Joe's Grand Prix in Portland, Ore.

Formula One
