French accents, silliness, tap dancing and general tongue-in-cheekiness all came in handy for the students of Bishop Canevin High School as they performed a stylistically appealing production of "The Boy Friend," Sandy Wilson's spoof of giddy flapper musicals.

The show is famous for famous for being the vehicle used by the teenage Julie Andrews for her American theatrical debut. The musical is heavy on sillines and short on substance, but the Bishop Canevin cast made a good case for bringing it more often to the high school stage.
