Birdies: To the Virginia Tech golf team, which entered the final round of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament five strokes from the lead and rallied to share the title with Georgia Tech, just a week after 32 classmates were shot to death on campus.

Bogeys: To the computerized ranking system used by the LPGA that allows Lorena Ochoa to replace Annika Sorenstam as the No. 1 player in women's golf in an off-week in which neither player hit a shot. In this system, Ochoa could take a three-month vacation and possibly catch Tiger Woods.
