ART

Dormont -- The Daguerreian Society, 3043 West Liberty Ave., will hold an opening reception from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday for an exhibit called Daguerreotypes Past & Present. The exhibit continues from noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays and noon to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through May 5. West Homestead -- An exhibit of traditional Bulgarian textiles is part of Fiber Arts Guild of Pittsburgh's Fiberarts International 2007 through June 15 at the Bulgarian Macedonia Cultural Center, 449-451 W. AUDITIONS

North Strabane -- Little Lake Theatre, off Route 19 South at Donaldson's Crossroads, will hold auditions for boys ages 12-15 for "Over the Tavern" and "Ancestral Voices." Children ages 8-18 are needed for "Sleeping Beauty," "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse," "The Twits" and "Sarah, Plain and Tall." Auditions will be held by appointment only April 25 and 27. Castle Shannon -- This weekend's Three Rivers Quilters' 2007 Quilt Show at Castle Shannon Memorial Fire Halls, Route 88 at Grove Road, will feature more than 150 quilts, plus demonstrations and a flea market. Bethel Park -- Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, will present a two-part program of classical and contemporary music by North Pittsburgh Philharmonic Orchestra members at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Pleasant Hills -- Pleasant Hills Lions Club will hold its G-r-reat Giveaway at 7 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church great room, Old Clairton Road. The Giveaway is a series of fast-paced raffles with more than 250 prizes. Proceeds will benefit charities. South Park -- The fourth annual Prescription Center Plus/St. Thomas More 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk will begin at 9 a.m. May 5 at South Park Fairgrounds. Fee is $15 before Wednesday, and $20 after; $50 for a family of four, plus $10 for each additional member. Fee for a Tot Run and Junior Race is $5 per child.
