Friday, April 13, 2007

The Post-Gazette reviews movies from a family perspective:

'Disturbia'

Rated: PG-13.

Suitable for: Mature teens and their parents.

What you should know: A troubled high school lad (Shia LaBeouf) under house arrest and the proverbial girl-next-door (Sarah Roemer) become obsessed with the comings and goings of suspicious neighbors, one of whom may be a serial killer.

Language: Fairly frequent mild profanity.

Sexual situations and nudity: Lots of undressing, bikini-wearing and brief toplessness on the part of Roemer, voyeurism in general, and a couple of kissing scenes.

Violence/scary situations: The opening car accident is graphically violent and bloody. Much of the film is suspenseful and frightening. Final scenes contain extreme violence, knife assaults, dead bodies and body parts.

Drug or alcohol use: Lots of alcohol is consumed during a pool-party scene, and there is one instance of marijuana use.
