The following East students were first-place winners in the Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair, held March 31 at Heinz Field.

In the Junior category was Adam Dando, from Franklin Regional Middle School, in Physical Science.

In the Intermediate category was Natalie Brock, of Mary Queen of Apostles School, in Medicine/Health/Microbiology.

In the Senior category were Hemali Vin, of Franklin Regional Senior High, in Computer Science/Math, Eva Gillis-Buck, of Squirrel Hill and the Ellis School, in Earth/Space/Environment and Alexander Laun, of Woodland Hills High School, in Engineering/Robotics. Kerrick Dando from Franklin Regional High School will represent the region at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair May 13-18 in Albuquerque, N. M.
