BRADENTON, Fla. -- Sean Burnett, who did not allow an earned run in 11 1/3 innings this spring, was one of three pitchers the Pirates sent to their minor league camp this morning.
Joining Burnett on the ride to Pirate City were left-hander Shane Youman and right-hander Kevin Gryboski.
Burnett, who had Tommy John surgery in 2004 and missed the 2005 season, and Youman will be in the Class AAA Indianapolis starting rotation. Burnett, a left-hander, could be the Indians' opening day starter against Columbus April 5.
Burnett's departure means left-hander Tom Gorzelanny will be in the Pirate rotation, perhaps as the fifth starter. Tony Armas appears to have the fourth starting spot clinched.
