From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, you can celebrate "Passover in the Aisles," a preparing-for-Passover event sponsored by Shalom Pittsburgh and other groups at the Giant Eagle Market District store, 5500 Centre Ave., Shadyside.
The fun will include free matzo, a Passover craft project for the kids, a cooking demonstration by cookbook author and PBS TV show host Joan Nathan ("the mother of kosher cooking") and a raffle for a Kosher for Passover gift basket. Shalom Pittsburgh's Suzanne Green says, "Our hope is ... people get excited about Passover."
For details, call 412-992-5255.
Ms. Nathan also will appear at the Giant Eagle Market District in Bethel Park at 3 p.m. Sunday.

If you'd like to get a taste of a Seder meal, you're invited to one at, of all places, a Catholic church.
North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Monroeville will open the doors of its DeLuca Hall for its annual Seder Meal at 6 p.m. on April 1, Palm Sunday. Sponsored by the church's Worship Committee, the Seder meal involves a shortened prayer service and tasting of all the symbolic foods.
Co-organizer Katie Horvath says this is a "Christian celebration of the Seder," but focuses on the history that Judaism and Christianity share.
After the Seder, a full chicken dinner will be served.
Admission is $6 for adults and free for youth 18 and younger. The church is located at 2526 Haymaker Road. For more information or to make a reservation, call 412-373-1656.
