Sherron Collins scored 20 points and No. 2 Kansas (30-4) rallied after another hot start by Texas' Kevin Durant to beat the 15th-ranked Longhorns, 88-84, in overtime yesterday and claim its second consecutive Big 12 title in Oklahoma City.

Durant, the Big 12 player of the year, matched his career high with 37 points but took only two shots in overtime and did not score.

Darnell Jackson's two free throws extended Kansas' lead to 86-81 with 13.2 seconds left.

A.J. Abrams hit a 3-pointer from the right wing to give Texas (24-9) one last chance, but Robinson hit two free throws with 5.3 seconds left to seal the win. Durant's final shot -- a 3-pointer from the right wing -- caromed away with two seconds left.

Wright and Brandon Rush each added 19 points, and Mario Chalmers -- who hit the 3-pointer to force overtime -- scored 17 for Kansas, which has won five Big 12 titles. The Jayhawks enter the NCAA tournament on a season-best 11-game winning streak.

Abrams added 19 points for Texas, which led by 22 points in the first half. Durant still set a Big 12 tournament record with 92 points in Texas' three games -- breaking the record Iowa State's Marcus Fizer set by scoring 79 in three games in the 2000 tourney. The 6-foot-9 freshman also had 10 rebounds to pass LaSalle Thompson's record for rebounds in a single season for Texas. It was Durant's 20th double-double of the season.

Atlantic Coast

Shrugging off eight years of frustration in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, No. 8 North Carolina (28-6) beat Tobacco Road rival North Carolina State, 89-80, in St. Petersburg, Fla., for its first league title since 1998.

Brandan Wright and Wayne Ellington scored 16 apiece, Tyler Hansbrough went 11 for 11 from the free-throw line to finish with 15, and Reyshawn Terry and Ty Lawson added 13 for the Tar Heels.

North Carolina State (18-15) reached the title game with an improbable run that included upsets of second-seeded Virginia, third-seeded Virginia Tech and defending champion Duke.

Brandon Costner led N.C. State with 28 points. Courtney Fells had 18 and Gavin Grant finished with 10.

Southeastern

No. 6 Florida finished off three routs in three days, beating Arkansas, 77-56, in Atlanta to claim its third consecutive SEC tournament championship and lock up a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Again, it was a devastating team effort by Florida (29-5), which lost three of its last five regular-season games but showed no weaknesses at the Georgia Dome. The Gators won their three tournament games by an average of 19.7 points.

Up front, Al Horford scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Joakim Noah had 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

Michael Washington led the Razorbacks (21-13) with 17.

Southland

Chris Daniels scored 19 points and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (26-6) held off Northwestern State, 81-78, in Houston for the Southland Conference tournament championship and its first berth in the NCAA tournament.

Josh Washington added 16 points for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Josh Ervin added 14.

The Demons (17-15) were led by Trey Gilder with 25 points and Jermaine Spencer had 13.

PSAC

Third seed Millersville (28-4) used a late 16-3 surge to beat California, 82-72, in the East Region semifinal of the NCAA Division II tournament at Barton College in Wilson, N.C.

The seventh seed Vulcans (24-7) were led by James Petty's 17 points.

Charlie Parker had 22 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the Marauders.
