Amber Brkich-Mariano, formerly of Beaver County, and husband Rob Mariano were last to the pit stop last night on CBS's "Amazing Race: All-Stars."
The pair, who gained a following of both loyal fans and detractors, proved impervious early on in this "Race," coming in first three weeks running. But in last night's episode, they were undone by their inability to correctly spell "Philippines" on a sign they had to construct.
"Better not be a spelling thing," Rob said.
It was. By the time the pair gave up and moved on to an alternate challenge, they were passed by many other teams.
"We started off strong, we just had a bad leg today," Rob said after the elimination.
"It might be the end of the race for us, but the fact that we got to come back and do it a second time is pretty spectacular," Amber said.
Rob and Amber, dubbed "Romber" by some fans, may be out of the "Race," but they'll be featured on an online CBS show that takes viewers inside the resort where contestants go after they leave the reality show. (Contestants are sequestered for the duration of the race.) "Elimination Station" can be seen at CBS.com under the "video" section of the "Amazing Race" page.
