Sunday, March 11, 2007

We won't know until the networks announce their fall schedules in May which, if any, of these pilots will make it to your home TV screen:

"Sarah Connor Chronicles" (Fox): "Terminator" spin-off that follows Sarah (Lena Headey) and son John Connor (Thomas Dekker, "Heroes") as they strive to protect humanity from robotic invaders from the future.

"Football Wives" (ABC): Lucy Lawless stars as witchy Tanya in this Americanization of the British soap about the women behind the men on a professional team (soccer across the pond, football in the U.S. version).

"K-Ville" (Fox): Cops in post-Katrina New Orleans face new challenges after the hurricane. Anthony Anderson ("The Shield") stars.

"The Bionic Woman" (NBC): The Peacock looks to reboot the 1970s Jamie Sommers story with British newcomer Michelle Ryan taking over the Lindsay Wagner role in this "re-imagining" from one of the producers of Sci Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica."

"Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (ABC): Series based on the hit movie with Martin Henderson and Jordana Brewster stepping into the roles originated by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

"Swingtown" (CBS): "The Ice Storm" for TV as couples in the 1970s explore mate swapping. Grant Show ("Melrose Place") stars.

"Life" (NBC): British actor Damian Lewis ("Band of Brothers") plays an ex-cop who returns to active duty.

"The Return of Jezebel James" (Fox): A children's book author discovers she can't conceive a child and asks her younger sister to be her surrogate. Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose star in this comedy from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman Palladino.

"The Reaper" (The CW): A twentysomething slacker (Bret Harrison, "The Loop") retrieves souls after they escape from hell.
