Shaler Area High School graduate Allason Holt broke Chatham College's single-season record for free throws made during the team's 56-37 victory against Franciscan University on Feb. 12.
Holt, a 6-foot-1 sophomore forward, connected on 7 of 12 free throws, raising her season total to 77, eclipsing the previous mark of 73 set by Liz Rizza during the 2005-06 season.
In 23 games this season, all starts, Holt leads the team in free throws made, rebounds (201) and blocked shots (60) and is second in points scored (243), field goals made (83) and assists (35).
In addition, she has set school records this season for blocked shots in a game, season and career, as well as rebounds in a season.
North Hills grad third
North Hills High School graduate Patrick Wilson placed third at 174 pounds at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional qualifier Feb. 16 at Manchester College.
Wilson, a sophomore at Washington & Jefferson College, recorded five victories in the consolation bracket after dropping a 7-5 decision to Lycoming College's Justin Waycaster in the first round.
Wilson improved his season record to 15-10 with a 2-0 win over Elizabethtown's Brett Epps in the match for third place.
Seneca grad a standout diver
Seneca Valley graduate Michelle Quail placed among the top three in both diving competitions at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships Feb. 9-10 at Grove City College.
Quail placed second in the 3-meter event with a score of 236.95. She also finished third in the 1-meter competition with 266.3 points. Bethany's Desiree Finley won both titles.
