Talk radio hosts from region make magazine's top 100 list
Saturday, February 24, 2007

Several local radio talk hosts made the cut this year in the Talkers Magazine annual "Heavy Hundred" list.

The list ranks syndicated and local talk hosts around the country. The industry publication's criteria include courage, effort, impact, longevity, potential, ratings, recognition, revenue, service, talent and uniqueness.

Pittsburgh-based Bev Smith's show, 37th on the list, is syndicated nationally via American Urban Radio Networks and heard here on WAMO-AM (860). Others recognized were Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent (No. 68), whose show originates here at talk station WPGB-FM (104.7), and KDKA-AM (1020) talk host Fred Honsberger (No. 77).

Syndicated Rush Limbaugh topped the list, followed by Sean Hannity, both heard here on WPGB.
