Pitcher Sanchez joins Pirates, but two still out
Saturday, February 17, 2007

BRADENTON, Fla. - Romulo Sanchez, one of three pitchers who had been delayed from reporting to the Pirates' spring training, arrived and participated in all drills today. But the other two, Tony Armas Jr. and Serguey Linares, continue to await U.S. work visas in other countries.

General manager Dave Littlefield said there was no update on their status.

Also today, pitcher Bryan Bullington, the No. 1 overall choice in the 2002 draft, threw his first bullpen session since a brief one in October. It was his most intense workout since having shoulder surgery in late 2005.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
