Mt. Lebanon graduate Kaitlyn Orstein collected her third consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference women's Swimmer of the Year award at the PAC championship meet at Grove City College last weekend.
Orstein, a junior at Washington & Jefferson College, won three events individually and was a member of four victorious relay teams.
Orstein ended the three-day event with a record-breaking performance in the 200 breaststroke as she set pool, invitational and conference records during her first-place finish in a time of 2:21.34.
She also won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.66, and the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:28.98. Her time automatically qualified her for the NCAA championships in all three events.
Orstein was also a member of four title-winning relay teams -- 200 freestyle (1:38.64), 400 freestyle (3:37.85), 800 freestyle (7:59.07), and 200 medley relay (1:49.56).
Orstein's father, Mike Orstein, also was named PAC Women's Coach of Year for the 14th time in his career.
Also at the PAC championships, South Park graduate Pat Smith won the 200 backstroke. Smith, a senior at Westminster College, set PAC and school records with a time of 1:53.57.
