North Strabane -- Greater Canonsburg Public Library will begin its Commonwealth Speakers Series at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the North Strabane township building, Route 519. Gary Hardcastle will give a talk, "The Return of the Scopes Trial." At 7 p.m. Saturday, Craig Eisendrath's presentation will be "Crisis Game: The United Nations Security Council During a World Crisis." Waynesburg -- Mwenda Ntarangwi, assistant professor of anthropology at Augustana College, will give a talk, "What in the World is Going On?" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Performing Arts Center at Waynesburg College. Admission is free. Also Tuesday, he will speak at the 11 a.m. chapel service in Alumni Hall.
ON STAGE
California -- A benefit performance of "The Vagina Monologues" will be at 8 p.m. Friday in Natali Student Center at California University of Pennsylvania. Admission is $10. Canonsburg -- Canon-McMillan School District will hold kindergarten screening and pre-registration during April, available by appointment only.
