Lake Erie area: Ice anglers are catching bluegills and perch in Horseshoe Pond and Misery Bay. Brian Ruland of Poor Richard's East released half a dozen largemouth bass, 10 to 19 inches, and a 22-inch steelhead in Misery Bay, and 19 perch, 8 to 11 inches, through the ice at the head of the bay.
Lake Pleasant (Erie County): A recent stocking has drawn ice anglers to this tiny natural lake.
Allegheny Reservoir (Warren County): Northern pike up to 30 inches and walleyes up to 29 inches are being caught. Very few anglers are fishing the tailrace.
Chapman Reservoir (Warren County): Anglers are catching some nice-size trout following Tuesday's stocking.
Lake Wilhelm (Mercer County): Perch and bass are being iced by the three posts and in "the stumps," although this part of the lake can be treacherous because of submerged timber and an underwater spring.
Shenango Reservoir/Shenango River (Mercer County): A lot of crappies and bluegills are being iced, along with a few mostly small perch. The bay by Route 846, Golden Run, and the swim beach are the most fishable areas. The river below the spillway was stocked with trout Monday.
Pymatuning Reservoir (Crawford County): Anglers are catching walleyes up to 6 pounds at the Ohio campground and around Westford, and north of the causeway at the Manning launch. Some small perch also are being iced, along with a few crappies.
Lake Arthur (Butler County): Anglers are icing northern pike and bass. The crappie bite has begun to heat up. Anglers are fishing Muddy Creek, Shannon Bay, Portersville Cove and the rental cabin and McDaniels launch areas on the west end. The Route 422 launch also is getting some pressure. Ice has been variable. No citations were weighed this week, although northern pike up to 35 inches and some 4 1/2 pound largemouths are reported.
Harbor Acres Lake (Butler County): Anglers are icing stocked trout on this state gamelands lake.
Highpoint Reservoir (Somerset County): Ice fishermen are catching northern pike, perch and panfish.
Cranberry Lake (Fayette County): Ice anglers are catching northern pike and bass at this impoundment off Route 653.
Youghiogheny River (Fayette County): Anglers are catching trout at the power plant in Confluence.
Dunlap Creek Lake (Fayette County): Trout are being iced on maggots and waxworms, and saugeyes are being caught on jigging spoons.
Virgin Run Dam (Fayette County): Trout were stocked yesterday.
Lower Twin, Donegal, Keystone, Mammouth, and Northmoreland lakes (Westmoreland County): Trout stockings are scheduled for Tuesday.
Canonsburg Lake (Washington County): Bluegills and crappies are hitting through the ice.
Glendale Lake (Cambria County): The upper section of Wyerough Branch north of the causeway got a lot of ice angling pressure last weekend. Perch averaged 6 to 8 inches. Several northern pike were landed. Mike Hazlet of Tyrone released two 30-inch northern pike. Al Peterman of Tyrone landed northern pike, 24 and 32 1/2 inches. Brian Lee of Altoona caught a 18 chain pickerel. Two 15-inch bass were iced.
