People on the Move

Profile of the Week

James Thompson

Job: Executive Director, Parental Stress Center

Age: 54

Favorite stock/mutual fund: Technology stocks that support the economy.

Someday I want to: Retire from being a workaholic.

Interesting/useless facts about me: I have too many neck ties and too many baseball caps that I would like to wear if I only had the leisure time available to me to do so.

Favorite Movie: I'm captured by engaging movies like "Dances with Wolves" that explore the reality of cultural misperceptions.

What inspires you? My parents' role modeled the concept of hard work and I learned at an early age that success was always associated with "how much one was willing to put in is what they will get out." With their help, I've learned to put God first in everything I do.

Person(s) you'd most like to have dinner with: I'd invite all of the following leaders to one outstanding dinner party: President Lincoln, President Kennedy, President Bush, Martin Luther King, William Weldon, & Donald Trump. These are people who hold positions of power and have made an impact on the world.

What do you like about Pittsburgh? Pittsburgh has a great history that has shaped much of the industrial, technological and educational world.
