Louisville 78, Providence 63: Terrence Williams scored 23 points and had 12 rebounds to lead host Louisville (12-5, 2-1). Edgar Sosa added 20 points and four assists for the Cardinals, who have won two consecutive conference games for the first time since joining the Big East last year.

Syracuse 75, Villanova 64: Demetris Nichols scored 23 points and Terrence Roberts 17 points and 14 rebounds to pace host Syracuse (14-4, 3-1). Nichols was 5 for 6 on 3-pointers and 8 for 12 from the field. Villanova (11-5, 1-3) was led by Curtis Sumpter's 24 points and 12 rebounds. Syracuse held a 52-39 lead with 15:33 to go, and the Wildcats never moved closer than nine points the rest of the game.

DePaul 60, Rutgers 37: Karron Clarke scored a game-high 21 points for visiting DePaul (11-7, 2-2), while Rutgers (8-9, 1-3) shot just 26 percent (13 for 49) from the floor. It was Rutgers' lowest point total in the shot clock era.
