Several seasonal coffee brews are available at distributors and taverns in this region:

Atwater Block Vanilla Java Porter, from Detroit, Mich.

Bell's Java Stout, from Kalamazoo, Mich.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout (contains no chocolate), from Brooklyn, N.Y.

Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout, from Petaluma, Calif.

Red Star Coffee Porter (draft only), from Greensburg. Watch other area brewpubs for seasonals, such as the Church Brew Works upcoming Espresso Stout.

One we can't get here: The Kona Brewing Co's. new Pipeline Porter, made "with freshly roasted 100 percent Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii's Big Island."

As for chocolate brews:

The Brewerie in Erie plans to release on Valentine's Day a yet-unnamed chocolate cherry stout, made with local Pulakos chocolate and cherry puree. Others include:

Rogue Chocolate Stout, from Newport, Ore. (Rogue also makes a Mocha Porter and a HazelNut Brown Nectar)

Young's Double Chocolate Stout, from South London, England.

Schell's Snow Storm, from New Ulm, Minn. (one of many beers with coffee and chocolate flavors, but no actual coffee or chocolate).
