Sto-Rox arts center project receives grant
Thursday, January 11, 2007

Focus On Renewal (FOR) has received a $500,000 grant from the Grable Foundation to support the transformation of its Sto-Rox Cultural Arts Center project.

The grant will sustain renovation for phase two of the center, which Arcon Construction began during the "Renaissance in Rox" kick-off ceremony in mid-September. The new cultural arts center is slated for initial occupation by summer 2007, and the Grable grant will enable construction to continue without interruption.

When the renovation is completed, the fully accessible cultural center will house a 125-seat theater; art gallery; office, conference and reception space; a cafe and store; dance, recording and art studios; and musical rehearsal rooms. In addition, the center will provide educational facilities and programs for the community.
