Five area athletes have been chosen to play in the eighth annual College Hockey East All Star Game, which will take place Saturday at the Center Ice Arena in Delmont.

Indiana University forward Zach Neubert, a Knoch graduate, will play for the South Division squad.

Members of the North Division squad are: Edinboro University defenseman Clint Hagmiaer (Pine-Richland), Pitt forward Roy King (Shady Side Academy), Robert Morris defenseman Dave Reinhart (North Hills) and Penn State-Behrend forward Dan Thiessen (Fox Chapel).

A skills competition involving players from both squads will take place prior to the game at 3 p.m. The game will follow at 4:30 p.m.

Shaler grad building blocks

Shaler Area graduate Allason Holt is ranked ninth in NCAA Division III in blocked shots per game with an average of 2.8.

Holt, a 6-1 sophomore forward for the Chatham College basketball team, leads the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference in blocks. She has already registered a single-season school record with 28 blocked shots through 10 games, and set a single-game school record with six blocked shots on Nov. 21 against Mount Aloysius.

She's starting at Bethany

North Catholic graduate Caelyn DiSanti has started five of nine games for the Bethany College women's basketball team.

DiSanti, a 5-8 sophomore guard, is averaging 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. She is shooting 60.0 percent from the field and 76.9 percent from the foul line.
