Profile of the Week

Gwendolyn R. Acker Wood

Job: Patent attorney, Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott

Favorite stock/mutual fund: Baron Growth Fund

Someday I want to: Be a member of the chorus line of a hit musical on Broadway (and maybe have a solo act!).

Interesting/useless facts about me: I once won first prize in middle school for a pen and ink drawing that I did of George Washington. I used a one-dollar bill as my model.

Favorite Movie: "The Wizard of Oz"

What inspires you? The amazing inner strength and beauty of people when faced with adversity.

Person you'd most like to have dinner with: Other than my wonderful husband (whom I never tire of having dinner with), Barbra Streisand.

What do you like about Pittsburgh? The hills, rivers and hundreds of bridges. It's like living in San Francisco and Venice at the same time!
