Greensburg Central Catholic graduate Maggie Gibson was named Presidents' Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the week.

Gibson, a 6-foot-1 freshman forward at Washington & Jefferson College, posted season-high totals with a 19-point, 16-rebound double-double as the Presidents posted a 71-63 non-conference home win over John Carroll.

Gibson is averaging 7.5 points per game and leads the team with a 10.9 rebound per game average. She is shooting 54.5 percent from the field for the Presidents, who have a 5-2 record.

Westminster record-setter

Trinity Christian graduate Kristen VanSickel set a Westminster College record in the 200-meter dash on Dec. 9, at the Marietta College First Glimpse Invitational at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center in Marietta, Ohio.

VanSickel, a sophomore, finished third in the race, but set a school record with her time of 27.47.
