Ask Carley: Do we need honeymoon trip insurance?
Monday, December 11, 2006

Q: We're on a tight budget and already spending a lot on our honeymoon. Do we really need trip insurance?

A: With all of the money you're spending on the wedding and honeymoon, you might be tempted to forgo things like insurance in order to save a few bucks. Don't!

While you hopefully won't need to use it, honeymoon insurance will definitely come in handy if something unforeseen arises, such as a family emergency, bad weather conditions, or an airline or tour company going out of business. And it usually only costs about 5 to 7 percent of your trip's total cost -- a small price to pay for peace of mind.
