The Penguins today put 17th-year NHL veteran John LeClair on waivers. Other teams have until noon tomorrow to claim the winger.
General Manager Ray Shero said he and LeClair, 37, agreed to the waivers process because LeClair's playing time was diminished and he was a healthy scratch from the Penguins' lineup twice in the past six games.
"He still wants to play," Shero said. "We'll see what happens with the waivers and go from there."
