Even if a child is not born with a silver spoon in her mouth, it doesn't mean she can't have a Dior pacifier between her lips.

And while you don't have to be rich to give the little one in your life a touch of luxury, as with most pricey expenditures, it helps.

Saks Fifth Avenue, known for style and luxury, doesn't leave the little ones out, either.

Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow can nap comfortably in a Portolano cashmere sweater from Saks for $160.

How about something with a touch of mink?

FAO Schwarz, a New York City institution, is known for putting the lux in luxury gifts for children. This year is no exception.

For a mere $250 more, get a handcrafted maple rocking horse with a genuine horsehair mane and tail, solid brass stirrups, removable English-style leather saddle and a suede saddle cloth.

Then FAO Schwarz can build for child or parent a detailed scale model of their home. A design team comes to your house and then heads back to the studio where highly skilled artists re-create everything, including the wallpaper, paint color, lighting and the fabric of your furniture.

If there's a budding fashion designer in your household, you might want to spring for FAO Schwarz's Fashion Design Party, which starts at $25,000.

What do you get for that?

Well, you get to party with a real fashion designer at the New York City store. The designer will help the party girl and nine of her friends design original garments.

The designs will be handmade and finished by professionals. Then the designers get to model their creations at a special fashion show and ice cream party.
