Penguins center Sidney Crosby practiced today and said he could play against the New York Islanders Tuesday night at Mellon Arena.
Crosby seemed cautiously optimistic about playing, but said he wouldn't decide until skating Tuesday morning.
Crosby missed the past three games with a strained groin. During that stretch, the Penguins' record was 0-1-2.
He is tied for sixth in the National Hockey League in scoring with 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points in 19 games.
More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
