PG West: Campus notebook

Three graduates of PG West area high schools were first-team selections to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division football squad.

Former Quaker Valley High School teammates Tim McCutcheon and James Rockymore were chosen along with Rochester Area grad Kirby Griffin.

McCutcheon, a junior at California University of Pennsylvania, was voted to the first team for the third consecutive year and at a third different position. McCutcheon played tackle as a freshman, guard as a sophomore, and center this year.

Rockymore is a junior defensive back from Shippensburg University who had four interceptions.

Griffin, a junior defensive lineman at California University of Pennsylvania who was also a first-team selection in 2004, recorded 36 total tackles and seven sacks.

Four other area players from California University were second team selections -- specialist Jermaine Moye (Rochester), defensive lineman Willie Walker (Aliquippa), linebacker Brian Mohr (Beaver Falls), and defensive back Josh Kemp (Fort Cherry). Mohr had 69 total tackles. Kemp had five interceptions.

West Allegheny graduate Matt Scott was also voted to the second team. Scott is a junior defensive lineman at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

He's a PAC man

Hopewell High School graduate Matt Gregg was voted to the Presidents' Athletic Conference all-star football team. A junior center at Grove City College, he was a first-team selection.

WVIAC choice

West Allegheny High School graduate Kyle Robinette, a 6-2, 280-pound offensive lineman at Fairmont State University in West Virginia, was selected to the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference all-star team.
