Pittsburgh school police were investigating an assault Wednesday on a student at Faison Arts Academy in Homewood.

In a letter to parents, co-principal Virginia Hill said the student was attacked by "two unauthorized visitors" to the school's intermediate campus at 8080 Bennett St. "I am happy to report that the student was not seriously injured," the letter said.

District spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said the student was a fifth-grader.
