BOB BARTLEY

SCHOOL: Hampton.

WHO IS HE? A 6-foot-3, 195-pound senior and one of the top quarterbacks in the WPIAL.

FANTASTIC FINISH: Hampton (5-5) defeated Keystone Oaks, 29-28, in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs Friday, and Bartley threw two touchdown passes in the final 1:15 to pull out the victory. He finished 20 of 40 for 371 yards and four touchdowns.

"I think I might have to put that game on the top of the list of games we've won," Bartley said. "Just because of how the year has gone and just the way we came back. It was unbelievable the way we did it."

TOUCHDOWN MAKER: Bartley has been a starter since his sophomore year and has thrown 58 touchdown passes. For his career, he is 258 of 545 for 4,449 yards. That means he throws a touchdown pass about once in every four completions. He is 94 of 205 for 1,485 yards and 16 TDs this season.

UNDER THE GUN: With leading rusher Steve Paskorz out with a hamstring injury, Hampton is relying even more on Bartley. The Talbots had no yards rushing against Keystone Oaks. "We're probably in the shotgun 65 percent of the time now," Bartley said.

THE OTHER SPORT: Bartley was a starting forward on Hampton's basketball team that made it to the WPIAL Class AAA championship game last season. He averaged in double figures. When asked if he would play basketball this season, Bartley said, "That's a good question. I'm not sure yet. I have to see what happens in football. I'm a little banged up."

THE FUTURE: Bartley wants to play college football and a few Mid-American Conference schools are showing interest.

ALISON RISKE

SCHOOL: Peters Township.

WHO IS SHE? One of the top scholastic girls' tennis players in the state.

PAST WEEK: Riske, a sophomore, secured the PIAA Class AAA singles title with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph against Alexis Dorr of Central Bucks East.

The singles and doubles championships were played Friday and Saturday at Hershey Racquet Club. Riske won her four matches in straight sets, losing only three of 51 games.

CAREER: This was Riske's first varsity season. She also won a WPIAL title and helped the Indians capture the PIAA team championship Nov. 4.

OTHER VENUES: As a freshman, Riske focused on national tournaments, but a back injury prevented her from playing in many.

SIBLING SPORT: Tennis is a sport the whole Riske family plays ... well. Alison and her two siblings have been standouts for Peters Township. Sarah Riske, class of 1999, won three WPIAL and two PIAA championships. She was a standout at Vanderbilt University and played professionally until retiring earlier this year.

Brother Dan shared in a WPIAL AAA doubles title in 2002 and played at West Liberty State College.

LEARNING AT HOME: Riske's house is her classroom, as she is a home-schooled student.
