If you haven't discovered the Carbolic Smoke Ball blog already, you really should give it a daily read.
My colleague Brian O'Neill has written about the site, and I was particularly amused by this headline yesterday: "SALLY WIGGIN TO PERFORM VULCAN MIND MELD ON ROETHLISBERGER, FILM AT ELEVEN." (By today, you'll have to scroll down to find this headline.)
In the faux news story, it's reported that WTAE's Wiggin will perform the mind meld during the upcoming November sweeps. From the concocted quotes attributed to Channel 4 news director Bob Longo to the style of piece, it's an ingenious and hilarious parody of both TV news and coverage of TV news.

The "Today" shows annual Halloween costume contest is always at least amusing, but yesterday it was a production train wreck.
Meredith Vieira's dress got caught and viewers were left to look at a stagehand's rear end as he tried to extract her. Somewhere, Katie Couric was either relieved to be free of such silliness or in mourning for the life she left behind.
