State police identified a suspect yesterday in the shooting deaths of three hunting dogs in Westmoreland County over the weekend.
Police said a 38-year-old man, whose name they would not release, came to the Kiski Valley station yesterday and spoke to them about his involvement in the shooting.
The Westmoreland County district attorney's office will charge the suspect with cruelty to animals and disorderly conduct.
The three beagles were shot with a .357 revolver. Each dog was shot twice.
