Reality TV: Accusations of cheating don't stop Sebelia from winning
Friday, October 20, 2006

Jeffrey Sebelia made his designs work -- winning season three of Bravo's "Project Runway."

He walks away with a spread in Elle magazine, a mentorship at INC International Concepts Design, a 2007 Saturn Sky Roadster, a year of representation from Designers Management Agency and $100,000 to start his own clothing line. He was chosen after the final four showed their incredible collections at Olympus Fashion Week.

Am I surprised? Yes and no. After the scandal last week of Jeffrey's missing receipts and Laura's accusation he cheated, mentor Tim Gunn learned Jeffrey went over budget -- something's fishy and sneaky. On the other hand, while he was never my favorite, the moment his models step out on the runway, his designs blow me away. His collection is a knockout; he had to win. As for the other contestants: Uli Herzner's ethereal dresses are gorgeous, and she had a great shot at winning, and I've loved Laura's classy style from the start. Too bad Michael Knight blew it! Anyway, congrats to Jeffrey -- the bold designer with the tattoos rocked the runway this season.

Flavor Flav has found his love in Belize -- bootylicious Deelishis -- and thank goodness it's not New York, who foolishly got a little too controlling and jealous on their catamaran date.

"You brought your moms out of you, that scared me New York," Flav says. "And you got jealous ways. For real, New York. I love you. Your time is up."

New York flips out, swearing and yelling at Flav, and pretending she doesn't care -- right. Lovely Deelishis just stands by, ready for New York to take a hike. Flav presents Deelishis with a gift -- gold teeth.

"Won't you be my baby, G?" he asks her. "Well what you waiting for, put them on?"

At the reunion Sunday, Flav meets Deelishis' daughter, season one's Goldie shows up and New York is ready to brawl. It looks like an episode of "The Jerry Springer Show." It airs at 8 p.m. on VH1.

It's "Duel" time on the "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" on MTV.

Casey bought new boobs from her "Fresh Meat" winnings, Diem's cancer is in remission, Robin is single and ready to mingle, CT looks like he's ready to cause trouble and Kina looks meaner than ever.

This season, it's each player for himself, and the guys and girls rotate Duel days. More than $500,000 in cash and prizes are up for grabs. Eric wins the first male challenge, and through a male/female schoolyard-style pick, Tyler is the last guy, and he chooses "Key West" castmate John to go into the Duel with him. Shockingly, Tyler wins.

On the female Duel day, Diem has to take her wig off to go into the mud pit, and she's nervous about what the others will think. Everyone's glad she has the courage to take it off -- she looks hot with short hair! She also wins the challenge. Belligerent Beth and rowdy Tina go to blows -- Tina throws a punch at her nemesis! Wow!

Coming up: Is that Diem and CT making out? And Robin and Evan locking lips? Why is Wes crying and does he fight CT? "Duel" airs Thursday at 10 p.m. on MTV.

Scandal on "Dancing with the Stars" this week, as Sara Evans quits the show because of her divorce/family issues. Jerry Springer and Kym Johnson and Joey Lawrence and Edyta Sliwinska are in the bottom two, but since Sara quit, surprise -- everyone's safe this week, and this week's scores will be combined with next week's. Come on, we all love Jerry, but it's really his turn to go, right? "Dancing" airs Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ABC.

With the gym locked up this week, the "Biggest Loser" cast must resort to creative measures for workouts. During the challenge in which each contestant had to do the wave 510 times, Ken gives up on the Red Team and they lose, giving Blue its first challenge win. But Blue loses by three little pounds at the weigh-in. Brian is the week's Biggest Loser, so he's safe. Blue's final female, Amy, Maryland's contestant, is voted out. While she's the lightest, she pulls in good percentages and lost 41 pounds at the Ranch, compared with much larger Erik, who has only lost 56 pounds. She's upset when she leaves -- can you blame her? Amy has the last laugh, though -- she's lost 88 pounds since starting at the Ranch and she looks hot! "Loser" airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. on NBC.

On "The Amazing Race," after a flight booking fiasco, the teams wind up in Chennai, India, and snotty Kim is not happy. "I want to go to Europe. I want to be with the rich folk," she says. "Look at how skinny that cow is, is it like a homeless cow?" What a trip. Despite their bickering, Sarah and Peter end up first at the Pit Stop. The coal miner and his wife, David and Mary, are last, but it's the first non-elimination round -- hooray! "Race" airs Sunday at 8 p.m., or whenever "60 Minutes" is over. (Watch your TiVo or DVR; "60 Minutes" has been running late).

Crybaby of the Week

... is Erica on "The Bachelor: Rome," again. On her date with Lorenzo and Agnese, the so-called socialite tells the prince that all the luxuries on the trip mean nothing and she's just there for him. What a snot. She's crazy and Lorenzo knows it. He dumps her and she freaks in the limo, trying to justify her rude behavior. I'm still in shock that she says this, while choking her way through nonstop sobbing: "Every guy I've ever met has judged me because I'm pretty and I'm smart and I come from a privileged background, and I thought maybe if I met someone that like had those same qualities they wouldn't judge me, but it's not true. ... Every guy that was raised like me wants some poor girl so he can be like Prince Charming and Cinderella. It's a disgusting little gross fairy tale. The poor girl meets the rich guy and they fall in love and live happily ever after. I'm so bored of that story."

And get this: She's back for some silly challenge with the rest of the girls on Monday's show at 9 on ABC.

Coming up

Hulkamania returns, brother, when the Hogans move to Miami for Brooke's music career on the season three premiere of "Hogan Knows Best," Sunday at noon and 9 p.m. on VH1.

Who thought it was a good idea to bring back "Breaking Bonaduce" for a second season? Bring on the train wreck. It airs Sunday at 12:30 and 9:30 p.m. on VH1.
