The Institute of Medicine has elected Timothy R. Billiar, M.D., the George V. Foster Professor of Surgery and chair of the department of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, to its 2006 class.

Law

Grogan Graffam, P.C. announced that Edward J. Chiodo joined as a senior associate in the professional liability practice group. He concentrates his practice in medical malpractice and other professional liability defense, product liability and toxic tort litigation.

Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP announced that Thomas C. Gricks III has rejoined the construction, environmental, and litigation practice groups and will be a resident in the Pittsburgh office. Mr. Gricks worked at Schnader previously from 1994 to 2003.

Cohen & Grigsby, P.C. announced that Elizabeth H. Cronise, Philip K. Kontul, Nicole L. Phatak, John M. Rumin and Helen S. Shaffer have joined the firm. Ms. Cronise joins as an associate in the Litigation Group where she concentrates her practice in the areas of mass torts, product defects, consumer protection, antitrust and securities fraud.
