Scott Knapp passed for 222 yards and three touchdowns and James Jacobs and Jeremy McCullough each ran for a touchdown as visiting Duquesne defeated Saint Peters, 35-21, yesterday for its 38th consecutive victory in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Duquesne (5-2, 1-0) is 13-0 against Saint Peter's (0-6, 0-1).

Knapp's touchdown passes were 6 yards to Phillip Hayes, 65 yards to Dan Spriggs and 25 yards to Bruce Hocker. Spriggs had six catches for 120 yards. The Dukes led, 28-0, and never were challenged.

Other games

Youngstown State 35, Western Illinois 28: The Penguins (6-1, 3-0), ranked sixth in Division I-AA scholarship, were led by Marcus Mason's 266 yards rushing and touchdowns of 1, 75 and 95 yards.

Carnegie Mellon 20, Case Western 10: Travis Sivek rushed for 103 yards and two 1-yard touchdowns and Kevin Mulkern threw a 76-yard touchdown pass to Mark Davis as the visiting Tartans (6-0, 1-0) defeated Case Western (3-3, 0-1) in the University Athletic Association. Robert Gimson rushed for 93 yards and Davis had three catches for 123 yards.

Washington & Jefferson 50, Westminster 7: Ryan Mendel ran for 131 yards and touchdowns of 4, 2 and 2 yards, and Bobby Swallow completed 16 of 19 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown and ran for two touchdowns to lead the host Presidents (5-1, 2-0) over the Titans (1-5, 0-3) in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. W&J has won five consecutive games.

Thiel 20, Grove City 0: Dan Hess carried 32 times for 113 yards and touchdowns of 7, 1 and 2 yards to lead the visiting Tomcats (4-3, 3-1) past the Wolverines (1-5, 1-4) in the PAC. Thiel held Grove City to a net of minus-4 yards rushing on 19 carries. Grove City's Andrew DiDonato passed for 123 yards.

IUP 33, Clarion 7: Kevin Weidl passed for 131 yards and touchdowns of 31 and 15 yards to Tobias Robinson and 9 yards to Anthony Cellitti, and Nick Wallace tied a school record with four field goals as host IUP (5-1, 3-0) defeated the Golden Eagles (1-6, 0-2) in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division. Wallace had field goals of 38, 23, 26 and 35 yards. Chris Morgan rushed for 99 yards on 19 carries, ending a streak of eight consecutive games with 100 or more yards. For Clarion, Tyler Huether completed 14 of 30 passes for 191 yards and Pierre Odom had eight catches for 135 yards

East Stroudsburg 12, Edinboro 0: The host Fighting Scots (3-4) were shut out for the second consecutive game for the first time since 1969. For East Stroudsburg (5-2), Jimmy Terwilliger passed for 199 yards and a 12-yard touchdown to Evan Prall.

Waynesburg 41, Bethany 15: Ryan Abels rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns and Eric Daniels ran for 161 yards and a touchdown as the Yellow Jackets (3-3, 3-0) defeated the visiting Bison (3-3, 1-2) in the PAC. Bethany's T.J. Parker had eight catches for 76 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown from Brent Owens.

Allegheny 49, Kenyon 38: Mario Tarquinio rushed for 252 yards and a touchdown, and Jimmy Savage passed for 158 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns to lead the host Gators (4-2, 2-1) past Kenyon (3-3, 2-1) in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Ohio Dominican 48, Seton Hill 28: Antwarn Jones ran for 142 yards and a 34-yard touchdown for the visiting Griffins (1-6), but it wasn't enough to overcome Chris Reisert's 296 yards passing and four touchdowns for Ohio Dominican (4-2), ranked 19th in NAIA.
