The environmental assessment for the two-mile stretch of East Ohio Street (Route 28) that is to be rebuilt is now available on the Web, as a ".pdf file" that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said may take time to download.
An electronic version was made available after the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette passed along requests from residents in the affected corridor where the $130 million reconstruction project is planned.
Interested persons can go to www.dot.state.pa.us/district11 and then click on "Roadwork" and "Featured Project" and then "Route 28" to reach the site.
A public hearing on the document will be held next Thursday at the Teamsters Temple in Lawrenceville. Plans will be displayed from 3 to 6 p.m. The formal hearing is to begin at 6:30 p.m.
