The 10-day event also will screen movies at the Harris Theater, Downtown, and feature free showings of "All Aboard! Rosie's Family Cruise" and "My Girlfriend Did It," a documentary about domestic violence.

The lineup includes the world premiere of "Phoenix" and appearances by two of its stars plus the director and producer, and John Cameron Mitchell's "Shortbus," a sexually adventurous film about New Yorkers who meet at an underground salon, a week before its commercial opening.

Organizers also will be screening "The Life of Reilly," an adaptation of Charles Nelson Reilly's one-man show. The actor takes the audience from his birth in the Bronx to his retirement in Beverly Hills.

His relatives included an institutionalized father (whose wife nixed the chance to move to California and go into business with Walt Disney); a racist, baseball bat-wielding mother; and a lobotomized aunt. "Eugene O'Neill would never get near this family," Reilly once said.

The festival will close Oct. 29 with the sequel "Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds," also at the South Side venue, and a party next door at the Cheesecake Factory.

Tickets: $20 for "The Gymnast" or "Shortbus" and party at the Hot Metal Grille; $15 for "Eating Out" and party at Cheesecake Factory.

Regular tickets are $8, with those 25 and under admitted for $5. Packages of 10 tickets are $75, and packages of six, $45.

A "Diva Pass" of $125 provides entrance to all events and movies, except for the Oct. 26 "An Evening With Tab Hunter" at the Byham Theater.

Reserved seats for that event, being presented by the festival and Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, are $25.50, $20.50 or $10.50. For those tickets only, visit the Box Office at Theater Square, call 412-456-6666 or go to www.pgharts.org.

Film festival tickets are available at A Pleasant Present in Squirrel Hill or Banner Coin Exchange, Downtown, or at the door.

Movies primarily will be shown at the SouthSide Works Cinema or the Harris Theater, Downtown. Go to www.plgfs.org for descriptions and other details.
