Waynesburg's Ryan Abels, a senior from Elizabeth Forward High School, rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-18 victory against Grove City to become the school's all-time leader (3,350). He surpassed Mike Stout's 3,287 set in 1996-99. Abels is the Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive player of the week.
Gannon's Tomar Pettis set a school record with a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 35-14 loss against Mercyhurst. Following a bad snap on a field-goal attempt, Mercyhurst kicker Phil Scanlon tossed the ball wildly down the field with his left hand. Pettis picked it off and raced down the sideline for the score.
Edinboro's Ryan Valasek, a senior wide receiver from Highlands High, had two touchdown catches in a 28-6 victory against Cheyney to move into fifth place on the school's all-time list with 15 career touchdown receptions.
Robert Morris' Ray Gensler, a senior defensive lineman from Keystone Oaks, had 41/2 sacks in a 21-0 victory against Rowan to give him 17 for his career and ties the school record.
Saint Francis senior receivers Luke Palko (222 catches) and Michael Caputo (198) tied the Division I-AA record for most career receptions for two players on the same team with a combined total of 420. Texas Southern's Darrell Colbert and Donald Narcisse had 420 from 1983-86.
