New Businesses

Im-mack-ulate Impressions is a virtual administrative consulting company whose services include Internet research, PowerPoint presentations, sales support, newsletters, interviewing, travel arrangements, recruiting and calendar management. Kirsten A. Womack is the owner and the Web site is www.immackulateimpressions.com. Ms. Womack has over 20 years experience in administration, human resources, sales/operation and customer service. She holds a bachelor degree in human resource management and has received human resource generalist certification from the Society of Human Resource Management.

Contracts

Informatics Studio said it has completed a two-year contract to design a Web-based educational initiative to provide middle school and high-school students with online experience in setting up an electoral system. The concept is built around students being able to travel through space to a distant planet where they can set up a system of voting in a new colony. The name of the Web-based initiative is "The Incredible Journey to the Tricerian Colony." The Web site is developed as an immersive 3-dimensional environment and incorporates interactive experiences for students with games, testing and feedback.

Burns & Scalo Roofing said it received a contract from Turner Construction Co. for a roof on the new addition for Sewickley BMW. Terms weren't disclosed.

Awards/Honors

Robb Leonard Mulvihill said five of its lawyers were named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2006 by Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Magazine. Dennis St. J. Mulvihill, John A. Robb Jr., R. Douglass Klaber Jr. and Daniel L. Rivetti are Super Lawyers in Business Litigation. Arthur J. Leonard is recognized as a Super Lawyer in Civil Litigation Defense. Mulvihill also was honored as one of the Top 50 Pittsburgh Super Lawyers.

Eric Rothschild and Stephen G. Harvey, partners with Pepper Hamilton, recently received Pro Bono Awards from the Pennsylvania Bar Association at its annual meeting in Hershey, in recognition of their extraordinary commitment as lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the landmark "intelligent design" case of Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District. The case, which Pepper handled as part of its pro bono and public service program, along with lawyers from the ACLU of Pennsylvania and Americans United for Separation of Church and State, was decided by U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III in December.

Peggy Morrison Outon, executive director of Robert Morris University's Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, is included as a member of the NonProfit Times' Power & Influence Top 50 for 2006 . This is the ninth year for the listing, which recognizes upper-tier executives for their service to both the nonprofit sector and the people nurtured every day by the more than 1 million charitable organizations.

Citizens Bank said Linda Harris, a documentation analyst, was selected to volunteer for three months at Human Services Center Corp. during a paid leave of absence through Citizens' Community Service Sabbatical Program. She supports HSCC's Kids Outgoing, Outdoing and Learning Summer Program, a summer academic enrichment program for young children in need, and its Emerging Leaders Program, which enables young adults to develop competencies for the work force.
